Our team will be performing an upgrade to the infrastructure of all shared stacks on March 23rd, between 10:00PM and 11:59PM Eastern.
During this window each shared stack’s Bastion will be replaced, and the following impacts are expected:
- Outbound internet connectivity: Since the Bastion also acts as the outbound NAT for your Apps, the outbound IP address will change to another IP address in the pre-defined pool to minimize downtime. If the IP change occurs mid-session, existing connections will be disconnected. New connections will automatically use the new public IP. If your partners, vendors, or third-party services require an allowlist, please ensure they allow all addresses in the pool to prevent connectivity interruptions during maintenance. See https://app.aptible.com/stacks to obtain the pool of addresses for the stack(s) you utilize. - Operations: traditionally we have blocked (rejected) new operations during critical maintenance, but we will not be doing so this time. Instead, if you create a new operation while a stack is in maintenance, the operation will be queued, and execute as soon as the maintenance is complete. Operations may be queued for up to 5 minutes but will eventually run and succeed. - Database tunnels: during the maintenance any CLI aptible db:tunnel sessions will be disconnected. You will be able to immediately reconnect if you are impacted. - Ephemeral sessions: during the maintenance any running CLI aptible ssh sessions will be disconnected. You will be able to immediately start a new ephemeral session if you are impacted. - Log streaming: logs streamed via the aptible logs CLI command will be disconnected. You will be able to immediately reconnect to streaming logs if you are impacted.
Dedicated stacks will not be affected at this time; their maintenance will be scheduled separately.
